Background

According to the duo's bio,[3] Wyatt and Nezey first formed the group after a strong musical connection was made when working on Kimberly's debut studio album in Los Angeles. When recording her debut album, Kimberly soon became frustrated when most of the producers that she worked with were focusing on "making something that people will listen to now". Whereas Nezey wanted to make something that "people will listen to in the future", which Kimberly agreed with.

"Ever since the 'Dolls chapter ended I was recording music a lot trying to figure out what was next for me. After almost a year recording trying to figure it out and having an idea of the kind of music I loved and wanted to make, I worked with a lot of producers and I met up with my friend Spencer. He blew me away - he's super-talented and we would speak the same language when it comes to influences and likes within music. We just decided it would be a cool thing to partner up and dream big! Since then, we created Her Majesty and The Wolves and we've just been doing this huge conceptual music fun thing.

Debut album

The duo released a new track, "Glaciers" on 27 August 2010 as a free download from their website.[4] The song has been described as a 'hypnotic lo-fi dance track with huge tribal beats'. The music video was released on the groups official YouTube channel.[5]

On 9 November 2010, the duo released the official music video for their first mainstream single "Stars in Your Eyes". During an interview with British entertainment website Digital Spy they said this regarding the progress of the album:

We recorded a lot of music in July this year—about seven tracks actually—and since then another six. It's not coming out until next year, so we want to keep on creating. You never know where your next inspiration is going to come from. We're about 70% there I'd say.

The song has received mostly positive reviews from most music critics. The Sun said: "Stars in Your Eyes" is a big Euro rave-up featuring Wyatt's haunting vocals and raps from her partner Spencer Nezey, while the video is a high fashion affair set in space and features ex-Pussycat Doll member Ashley Roberts dancing alongside Wyatt."[6] The group released "Stars in Your Eyes" as their first official single on 10 January 2011.[7]

Robert Copsey of Digital Spy said: "If Kimberly Wyatt's 'Candy' collab with Aggro Santos from earlier this year taught us anything, it's that she has it in her to become the next Dannii Minogue. Not only does she already have a judging spot on a primetime talent show, but having teamed up with hip producer Spencer Nezey under the guise of Her Majesty & The Wolves, she's clearly got a keen ear for dance music too. No, we don't quite understand the name either, but for some reason it gets us all kinds of excited. Rather than being drafted in simply to fulfil chorus duties, this time Kimbo takes on the lion's share of the track, informing us that she won't be evacuating the dancefloor "until I see the sun" - and with grime-cum-trancey beats backed by slick disco production courtesy of Nezey, we can see why she's holding her ground. The result may not be as instant as her former hook-up, but while we wait in hope of Minogue, D's return, this will keep us more than satisfied."[8]

On 11 July 2011 their debut album 111 was released in the UK.
